Description
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:Assist in the improvement and standardization of work in the Fabrication and Machining areas to ensure parts are correctly grouped and produced to increase throughput. Work to gather data like run-time, tack time and then running capacity analysis per the demand. Student will work with Operators, Supervisors and Manufacturing Engineers and help in continued effort to increase utilization.
- Create standard work processes for parts being produced in the laser cutting, brake press, CNC machining and weldment areas.
- Perform time studies for various set-ups and cycle times, compile data and provide recommendations on how to make the process more efficient in the machining area.
- Learn about Lean manufacturing and how to reduce waste by identifying parts for the manufacturing processes that are the most efficient and will result in increased throughput.
- Reduce bottlenecks by performing analysis of the components and identify characteristics to better group parts.
Perform other duties, assignments and special projects as assigned.
Position Requirements
- Completed two years of study towards a Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong Organizational abilities.
- Ability to demonstrate and maintain a high level of professionalism.
- Ability to exercise good judgment and make decisions in a logical and rational manner; demonstrate "common sense", practical approaches.
- Ability to gather facts, analyze problems in depth and break down into components.
- Ability to demonstrate an outgoing, enthusiastic and positive attitude that establishes collaborative relationships with peers and allows adaptation to and operation in a fast-paced, changing environment.
- Computer proficient with solid knowledge of MS office product suite.
Anticipated Starting Wage - $22.00
